Crash Kills Elderly Man In Burlington Co.: Police

The victim, 84, was airlifted to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries, authorities said.

MEDFORD, NJ — An elderly man died after a crash Thursday in Medford, police said.

Rodger Carney, 84, of Medford, was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries, authorities said.

The collision happened at about 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Tuckerton Road and Marquette Drive. Carney was traveling west on Tuckerton Road. While Carney was making a left turn, an eastbound vehicle struck his car on the passenger side, police said.

Carney suffered head trauma and "other significant injuries," according to the Medford Township Police Department. The other driver sustained an abrasion to his hand and was released at the scene.

The MTPD Traffic Unit is investigating the crash.
