Special veterans event at the Evergreens

The Evergreens, a Continuing Care Retirement Community in Moorestown, welcomes veterans and families to a special event.

The USO Liberty Bells, a troupe of talented Broadway performers will perform World War II era hit songs as well as patriotic favorites. The USO Liberty Bells are a part of a 70-year American tradition that began in the muddy camps of the South Pacific, and have continued today in providing troops at home and overseas with the opportunity to escape form the rigors of serving our country through entertainment.

Colonel (Ret.) Michael L. Warner, an army veteran; former commander at Fort Dix and deputy commissioner for New Jersey Department of Veterans and Military Affairs will deliver remarks on the importance of service. Col. Warner’s awards and decorations include two Legions of Merit, two Bronze Star Medals, Purple Heart, three Meritorious Service Medals, and the Army Commendation Medal, along with campaign medals for service in Vietnam and overseas service ribbons for his tours of duty in Europe and Korea.

The event is open to all area veterans, friends and family members. Seating is limited, and available on a first come, first serve basis. Anyone interested in attending must R.S.V.P. to The Evergreens at (877) 915-4147 by Wednesday, November 16, 2011.
