Police Seek Answers In Hit-And-Run That Killed Elderly, Missing Woman In Burlington Co.

BURLINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — State Police asked the public for information that could aid the investigation into a hit-and-run that killed an elderly Burlington County woman who had been missing.

Yvrose Germain, 75, was reported missing after she left her Willingboro home on the night of March 16. After her body was discovered the following morning on Interstate 295 in Burlington Township, police determined that an unknown vehicle fatally struck her.

Detectives have determined that a "possible midsize vehicle or pickup truck" hit Germain between midnight and 8:15 a.m. March 17. The unknown vehicle was traveling northbound and struck the victim at milepost 46.8, police said.

It's unclear how Germain, who had dementia, got to that point of the highway.
