Jeaninne LePage, the South Jersey mother, was an unemployed nurse facing financial problems.

The South Jersey mother accused of killing two of her children, wounding another and then shooting herself on Thursday was said to be an unemployed nurse with financial problems.

Jeaninne LePage, 44, was in critical condition following the shooting that also left one child in critical condition, according to the State Police.

The case is officially being investigated as a homicide, State Police said on Thursday.

The father didn’t live in the house, police said on Thursday.

The shooting was reported at 9:15 a.m., but officials acknowledge it could have occurred any time between late Wednesday night and the time it was reported.

A family member reported the shooting to police, but those who live in the home have said they didn’t hear anything.

Police entered what officials described as a “chaotic scene,” and said the troopers who initially responded are currently receiving counseling.

A candlelight vigil for the victims was held Thursday night at the Tabernacle Town Hall, according to the Township’s Facebook page.

Officials believe all four were shot using the same handgun. The gun has been recovered.
