Former Cinnaminson Resident Pleads Not Guilty in Deaths of Girlfriend, Father

A former Cinnaminson resident has pleaded not guilty on charges of murder in the deaths of his girlfriend and her father, the Burlington County Times reports.

Dennis W. Pozniak, 28, was indicted last month on two counts of first degree murder, one count of third degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and one count of fourth degree unlawful possession of a weapon.

Pozniak’s attorney said he may request a psychological evaluation for his client, but it may not be part of the defense, according to the report.

The prosecution is still awaiting some evidence, including clothes found at the scene and the alleged murder weapon, according to the report.

Pozniak’s next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 28.

He is accused of killing Nicole Wilson, 24, and her father Bryan Wilson, 52, inside the home on Washington Street overnight on Jan. 31 into Feb. 1.

Pozniak, a Cinnaminson High School graduate with a prior charge of heroin possession and an outstanding charge of barbiturates possession, both in Camden County, had been living with his Wilson and her family for several months at their home in the 200 block of Washington Street in Mount Holly.

Nicole and Bryan Wilson moved from Cinnaminson to Mount Holly about 10 years ago, and Nicole was a decorated specialist with the Air National Guard and was stationed at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.

Autopsies performed by Burlington County Medical Examiner Dr. Ian Hood determined that death for both victims was caused by head trauma due to bludgeoning.

Police were called to the residence at about 9 a.m. on Feb. 1 by a family member who awoke and discovered the bodies.

Pozniak was inside the residence at the time. He was taken to a hospital and treated for several lacerations that were believed to be self-inflicted.

According to the Burlington County Times, he slashed himself 50 times and mixed pills with alcohol in an attempt to kill himself.

Pozniak remains lodged in the Burlington County Jail on $1 million bail.
