Here's What South Jersey Police Are Doing About 'Boom-Car Parties'
The loud, frequent events started up again recently, prompting comments from local residents, council members and township administrators.
CINNAMINSON, NJ — Police departments on both sides of the Delaware River will step up their efforts to stop "boom-car parties," the events in which people on undeveloped land in the Philadelphia area use large speakers for their parties — according to the Cinnaminson Police Department.
Officials from the State of New Jersey and several New Jersey municipalities met with representatives of the City of Philadelphia on Thursday.
"As a result of that meeting, the Philadelphia Police Department has ordered additional resources to patrol the areas in which the noises have been reported, specifically during peak hours," the Cinnaminson Police Department said. "Agency policies and procedures are being reviewed and modified to help combat this issue as well."
