Moorestown Theater Company Brings Winnie the Pooh, Kids to Cinnaminson

The following three musicals will close out the 13th anniversary season of the Moorestown Theater Company:

Disney’s Winnie The Pooh, Kids: This beloved family musical, which is based on the characters of author A. A. Milne, features these favorite songs: “The Honey Song”, “The Wonderful Things About Tiggers”, “Rumbly In My Tumbly”, and the title song.

A 23-member children‟s cast will present the story of Christopher Robin, Tigger, Rabbit, Eeyore, Owl, Kanga. Roo, and of course, Winnie The Pooh at Westfield Friends School (2201 Riverton Road in Cinnaminson, NJ).

Shows are Thursday, Oct. 29, and Friday, Oct. 30, 7 p.m. each night. Tickets are $12.

The Pajama Game: MTC is presenting the 1955 three-time Tony Award-winning musical (Best Musical, Best Choreography for Bob Fosse and Best Featured Actress for Carol Haney) that takes place in the “Sleep-Tite Pajama Factory‟ in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

A 28-member adult cast, led by Channel 6 ABC Anchor Rick Williams as Prez (the leader of employees‟ union), will present this musical that features such songs as “Hey There,” “Steam Heat” and “Hernando‟s Hideaway,” which will all be played by a live 12-piece orchestra at the Moorestown Upper Elementary School (325 Borton Landing Road in Moorestown, NJ).

Show time on Nov. 13, 14, 20 and 21 is 7 p.m. each night. There are 2 p.m. matinees on Nov. 15 and 22. Tickets are $17, $15 if you show up in your pajamas and $11 for veterans.

Shrek, Jr.: MTC will present the Moorestown premiere of the “Jr.‟ version of the musical featuring such well-known characters as Donkey, Princess Fiona, Lord Farquard and of course, the title character, Shrek.

A 67-member children‟s cast will perform this musical, which includes these fun songs: “Freak Flag,” “The Story Of My Life,” “Big, Bright Beautiful World,” “Morning Person,” “Forever” and of course, “I’m A Believer.”

Show times are as follows: Dec. 4, 7 p.m.; Dec. 5, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.; Dec. 6, 2 p.m.; Dec. 11, 7 p.m.; Dec. 12, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.; and Dec. 13, 2 p.m. Tickets are $12.

This show will be performed at the Moorestown Upper Elementary School (325 Borton Landing Road in Moorestown, NJ). This is also the musical that MTC will be performing at the National Jr. Theater Festival in Atlanta, GA in January of 2016.
