Mother Accused of Setting Baby on Fire Offered Plea Deal
The deal was offered after the state received the results of the Burlington County woman's psychiatric evaluation.

A 22-year-old South Jersey woman who allegedly set her newborn baby on fire in the middle of the road last year has been offered a plea deal, philly.com reports.
Details of the plea deal offered to Hyphernkemberly Dorvilier, of Pemberton, were not available, but the deal was made after results of her psychiatric evaluation were received earlier this month, according to the report. The results of that report also weren’t available.
The next hearing is scheduled for Monday morning. If she doesn’t accept the offer, a pretrial conference will be scheduled. That will be her last opportunity to accept a deal before the case goes to trial, according to the report.

The report was prepared after she pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to charges of first-degree murder and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
She allegedly set her newborn daughter on fire on Simontown Road in Pemberton just before 11 p.m. on Jan. 16, 2015.

Dorvilier allegedly had a can of WD-40 lubricating spray and a lighter in her jacket pocket when Pemberton Police responded to the scene.
The umbilical cord and placenta were still attached to the baby.
The baby, later named Angel, was airlifted to Saint Christopher’s Hospital in Philadelphia and was reported to be alive and breathing at that time. The baby died approximately two hours later.
According to Burlington County Medical Examiner Dr. Ian Hood, the baby died of smoke inhalation.
