Paul Brophy allegedly assaulted an employee at the Liberty 2 Diner about half an hour before being hit by a train in Bordentown.

The pedestrian who was hit and killed by an NJ Transit train on the River Line Monday morning was on the run after allegedly assaulting an employee at the Liberty 2 Diner on Route 130, NBC 10 reports.
Paul Brophy, 37, of Mount Laurel, was hit by the River Line train around 6:30 a.m. Monday morning after he allegedly crashed a pickup truck into a parked car. He left the truck and made his way to the tracks at the Bordentown Station, where he was hit and killed by an NJ Transit train.
This was about a half hour after police reported to the diner for reports of a man who had been kicking and hitting a car in the parking lot for an unknown reason, according to the report. When the owner of the car, who works at the diner, intervened Brophy allegedly assaulted him and fled in a white pickup truck.
