BURLINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — The deaths of a man and a woman who lived together in a South Jersey apartment complex have been ruled a murder-suicide, Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina and Burlington Township Public Safety Director Bruce Painter announced on Monday.

Police say 30-year-old Kristopher Corry beat 28-year-old Tianna Drummond to death before using a gun to take his own life. Their bodies were discovered together inside an apartment at the Willow Pointe Apartment complex on Salem Road in Burlington Township on Jan. 2.

Autopsies performed by Burlington County Medical Examiner Dr. Ian Hood determined that Drummond’s death was a homicide and Corry’s was a suicide, authorities said late Monday afternoon.

Corry and Drummond were in a relationship, according to the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office. They weren't married, but they both lived in the apartment in which they were found, authorities said.

Burlington Township police responded to the scene at about 8:47 Thursday morning, at which time they found the bodies of Corry and Drummond, according to authorities. No one else was inside the apartment when police arrived. They were asked to investigate by a neighbor who requested a wellness check. Corry was a football coach with the South Jersey Independent Youth Football Association, friends and family previously told the Burlington County Times.

On Dec. 23, Drummond wrote on social media, "The most important mark I will leave on this world is my son, one of the most amazing kids I know. I don't think I could have asked for a more perfect son. From your charisma, athleticism and intelligence, you literally put your all into everything you do and I couldn't be more proud. Having you at such a young age, we've literally grown together and I'm so happy you were chosen for me. I love you soooo much. Happy 10th Birthday King."

Corry's brother, Julian, was killed in a fight that broke out on a basketball court in Willingboro, according to The New York Times. Darnell Williams pleaded guilty to Corry's death in 2010, according to The Burlington County Times. He was paroled in 2014, but was arrested again while in possession of drugs and guns in 2016.
