Renowned Pianist To Perform At Rowan College At Burlington County

Arlene Shrut, Senior Coaching Faculty of The Juilliard School's Marcus Institute for Vocal Arts, will perform on Friday.

A collaborative pianist and coach who has collaborated with a number of big names and has been praised by The New York Times as a “strong and sensitive pianist” will perform a free classical concert at Rowan College at Burlington County on Friday.

Arlene Shrut, Senior Coaching Faculty of The Juilliard School's Marcus Institute for Vocal Arts and Vocal-Piano Recital Faculty at Manhattan School of Music, will join students for a free concert in the Votta Hall Auditorium on Friday, Sept. 15, 12:30 p.m.

“Rowan College at Burlington County is raising the bar in terms of education and cultural offerings to the community,” Burlington County Freeholder Linda Hughes, who serves as education liaison to the college, said. “I encourage the community to take advantage of the opportunity to see a world-class pianist work with some of Burlington County’s finest student musicians.”

Shrut is heralded as both a steward for the artistic traditions of classical music as well as a visionary for its future. She has more than 25 years of experience as a faculty member at The Julliard School and performs with elite artists of today while training the musicians of tomorrow. Shrut has collaborated with Renée Fleming, Thomas Hampson, Angela Meade, Isabel Leonard, and others.

“Rowan College at Burlington County’s music program, led by Russel Gartner, is giving students an incredible opportunity to learn from, and work with, talented artists like Arlene Shrut,” Rowan College at Burlington County Acting President Michael Cioce said. “Under Arlene’s tutelage, RCBC students have the ability to perform with the pianist in a live concert that celebrates the transformative power of music.”
