Second Burlington County Man Pleads Guilty in String of South Jersey Bank Robberies

A Burlington Township man became the second person to plead guilty to his involvement in a string of bank robberies in South Jersey from September of 2013 through January of 2014, U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman announced on Thursday.

David Glenn, 23, pleaded guilty to his role in the robberies of a total of seven banks.

Shalir Hall, 21, of Edgewater Park, previously pleaded guilty to a total of nine bank robberies.

The two men said they took turns going into the banks and staying in the getaway vehicle.

Glenn pleaded guilty to the following robberies: Beneficial Savings Bank in Willingboro on Nov. 14 and Nov. 26, 2013; PNC Bank in Mount Laurel on Nov. 29, 2013; Third National Bank in Delran on Dec. 12, 2013; Roma Bank in Delran on Dec. 12, 2013; and TD Bank in Bellmawr and PNC Bank in East Windsor, both on Jan. 8, 2014.

Both defendants have been in custody since Jan. 15, 2014, when they were detained on charges filed by the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office.

The charges to which Glenn pleaded guilty each carry a maximum potential penalty of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

In addition, Glenn’s plea agreement requires him to make full restitution to each of the banks.

Sentencing is scheduled for March 13, 2015.

Fishman credited special agents of the FBI, under the direction of Special

Agents in Charge Aaron T. Ford and Edward J. Hanko in Newark and Philadelphia, respectively, with the investigation leading to today’s guilty plea. He also thanked the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office and the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office; the Burlington County Sheriff’s Department Warrant Unit; and the U.S. Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force; as well as the East Windsor Township Police Department, Willingboro Police Department, Maple Shade Police Department, Delran Township Police Department, Mount Laurel Police Department, Philadelphia Police Department and the Hazelton, Pennsylvania Police Department for their work on the case.
