CINNAMINSON, NJ — State Sen. Troy Singleton (D-7) will assist the American Cancer Society with its Relay for Life event at Cinnaminson High School on Saturday, Sept. 28. The senator will volunteer from noon to 2 p.m.

Singleton and a team of volunteers will assist with various aspects of setting up the event. Anyone interested in helping can sign up at the senator’s website.

“We are fortunate to be partnering for a second time with the American Cancer Society for their Relay for Life event in Cinnaminson,” Singleton said. “This disease continues to affect thousands of individuals and their families every year, so it is our privilege to be able to lend a helping hand to this organization which tirelessly dedicates their time and resources to find a cure.”

The event will take place from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Teams of residents and families walk around the high school track for six hours, making sure at least one member is on the track at all times. The event raises money to end cancer and help end the disease for those who have it.

Last year's Relay for Life event attracted just shy of 250 people, according to Dan Paschke, who is helping organize the Relay for Life events in South Jersey this year.

This will be Singleton’s 22nd “Serve with Singleton” project since becoming a State Senator in January 2018. Previous volunteer efforts include: renovations, indoor and outdoor clean-up days, clothing and supply drives, painting projects, and other community event set-up and staffing functions.
