South Jersey Shooting Suspect Found in Barrington: Police

Samuel James, 26, will be lodged in the Burlington County Jail, following the fatal shooting of Byron Turner.

Samuel James, a Burlington Township man charged with weapons offenses and the murder of Byron Turner on Saturday, has been apprehended in Barrington, Camden County, the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office announced.

James, 26, was taken into custody at around 4:15 p.m. on Aug. 22. His bail was set at $1 million with no ten percent and he will be lodged in the Burlington County Jail, the press release states.

James was apprehended at the residence of an acquaintance's by members of the Burlington County Sheriff's Department Warrant Unit and U.S. Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force, the press release says.

James allegedly fatally shot 24-year-old Turner outside Turner's Burlington City home Saturday night. Turner was pronounced dead at about 10 p.m. at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, the press release states.

A five-year-old-girl in the area was also injured while running from James' gunfire, but she wasn't shot. She was treated and released from Lourdes Medical Center of Burlington County in Willingboro, according to the press release.
