Police: South Jersey Mother Who Shot Her Three Children Before Turning Gun On Herself Dies

The father of two children who were killed, and another in critical condition, was interviewed by State Police Friday afternoon.

The mother who allegedly shot her three children - killing two of them - before turning the gun on herself died at Cooper University Hospital on Sunday morning, the New Jersey State Police confirmed.

The third child, Alexander Harriman, 11, was last reported on Friday to be in critical condition. State Police have said they believe Jeaninne LePage, 44, was the shooter.

A weapon was found in close proximity to the mother, police said at a press conference Friday. A pillow was used to muffle the sounds of the revolver.

The revolver used in the incident was kept in the house and may have belonged to a relative who had passed away some time ago, police said.

Charges against LePage were to be determined by the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office had she survived her injuries, police said.

All victims were found in the same room, police said. The two children who were pronounced dead following the shootings have been identified as 8-year-old Nadia Harriman and 14-year-old Nicholas Harriman, State Police confirmed on Friday.

State Police have located the father and he was being interviewed as of Friday afternoon.

The shootings were reported around 9:15 a.m. Thursday morning. Earlier Friday, it was reported that LePage was an unemployed nurse facing financial problems. She allegedly told a close friend things may go this way if her financial situation didn’t improve.

LePage and her children lived in a home in Tabernacle with her brother, his wife and their children. A total of nine people lived in the home.
