Underwear Theft Investigation Leads To Child Porn Charges For Burlington Co. Man

Police say they found more than 200 pairs of stolen women's and children's underwear, as well as evidence of child pornography.

EVESHAM, NJ — Police say they found more than 200 pairs of stolen women's and children's underwear at a Burlington County man's home, as well as evidence of child pornography.

Officers made the discovery while investigating theft from an apartment complex's laundry room in Evesham, and arrested a Marlton man on charges of theft and possession of child sexual abuse materials, police said.

A resident at Nieuw Amsterdam apartments told police someone had taken articles of her clothing from the complex washing machine on Dec. 26, police said.

"This unusual behavior was observed on more than one occasion," said Evesham Police in a news release Friday. Officers identified 39-year-old William Borrero as a suspect based on information and evidence turned over to the department, police said.

On Friday, Evesham Police executed a search warrant at his residence, "which yielded the discovery of over 220 stolen articles of clothing (women’s / children’s underwear) and electronic evidence consistent with child sexual abuse material."

Officers arrested and charged Borrero with third-degree possession of child sexual abuse material and third-degree theft, a news release said. He is lodged in the Burlington County Jail, police said.
