WHERE I'VE BEEN… EYE REMOVAL NECESSARY FOR HOMELESS KITTY!

Hello, Patch Pet Lovers!

Remember the kitty I saw on the street in Palmyra?

  • Took her to the emergency hospital immediately… scanned for microchip: None! No immediate grave danger or urgent care necessary…
  • I posted on a voluminous amount of public and professional sites, all over social media, sent emails/faxes to vets, rescues, shelters, police stations, and the like… no one claimed her as their pet or recognized her.
  • Next we had a mobile vet visit with HousePaws and the outcome was fantastic, reporting only some tartar, extremely underweight, and labs revealed only a hyperthyroid… considering the condition in which she looked, that was just pawsome!!!  She began medication and rec'd a rabies vaccination.
  • Easily earned her trust… purring, seeking affection, she immediately used the litter box, her scratching toy; so appreciative to be saved and loved!!!  But then she seemed to become a very picky eater… tried many foods, consistencies, supplements, until she only drank liquids.
  • Just the next day, there was an acute onset and rapid decline… massive hard lump, possible tumor, abscess, and/or glaucoma causing a severely bulging eye and ulcerations, in addition to ulcers in her mouth.
  • Third vet visit… immediate referral to North Star Vets ophthalmologist!  CT Scan recommended, possible cancerous tumor, chemo, and euthanasia.
  • Not this spunky, precious, loving, little angel… she was not my cat to make such a decision… but by evening, one was necessary, and she came to me to live, not die!
  • Thought my kisses to Chapina where my last, when she was off to surgery… but, once again, Dr. Lisa, at HousePaws Mobile Vet, was there to save another life… and her staff provided me much emotional support and tissues, and the rest is history!!! Now only happy tears…

Meet Chapina… with those vibrant, emerald green eyes, now a beautiful one-eyed girl healing comfortably, peacefully, receiving lots of love!!!  Update coming soon…
