Clark Asks Residents To Report Storm Damage By July 8

Town officials are collecting information to help assess the impact of the July 3 storm.

CLARK, NJ — Clark Township is asking residents who experienced property damage during the severe storms on July 3 to submit a damage report by Wednesday, July 8, as officials work to determine the full impact of the storm on the community.

The township is collecting information about storm-related damage to help with local assessments that may be shared with county, state, and federal agencies, including the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

Residents are encouraged to report damage involving homes, businesses, garages, sheds, fences, vehicles, and other structures, even if they have already contacted their insurance company.

The information collected will help officials create a more complete picture of the storm’s impact and assist agencies in determining whether damage levels meet the requirements for additional assistance.

Submitting a damage report does not guarantee FEMA assistance or a federal disaster declaration. Decisions regarding disaster declarations and eligibility for assistance are made by FEMA based on damage assessments conducted at the local, county, state, and federal levels.

Clark Township officials said even reports involving minor damage are important as recovery efforts continue.

Residents can submit a Property Damage Assessment Form through the township’s online services portal or by visiting the township website and selecting “Online Services.”
