Shelter In Place Issued For High School In Union County As Police Investigate

CLARK, NJ — A shelter-in-place at Arthur L. Johnson High School was lifted Thursday after Clark police investigated a reported threat that officials said was unsubstantiated.

The school had initially been placed in a lockdown before being downgraded to a shelter in place during the investigation.

In a joint update, Clark Public Schools and Clark Township Police confirmed the shelter-in-place had been lifted and normal operations resumed.

“Students will follow the standard bell schedule for the remainder of the day. Normal dismissal procedures are in place and all after school events are on as scheduled,” officials said.
