Clark Named One of Safest Places to Live

Clark was among the top 50 cities in New Jersey safest places to live ranked by CreditDonkey

Clark, NJ -- A credit card comparison website has named the Town of Clark as one of the best place to live in the Garden State.

CreditDonkey reviewed five areas to come up with its list for the state of New Jersey: odds of being a victim of a violent crime; number of robberies; number of property crimes; and number of burglaries.

To compile the data, CreditDonkey looked at FBI Crime Report data for 2014.

Clark was named 44 out of the top 50 CreditDonkey listed.

  • Violent crime per 1,000 residents: 0.3
  • Robbery per 1,000 residents: 0.0
  • Property crime per 1,000 residents: 8.6
  • Burglary per 1,000 residents: 0.1
  • CreditDonkey safety score: 2.221

“If you’re looking to settle down in a city where both violent and property crimes are practically nonexistent, Clark Township is the place to be,” the site posted. “The city reported just four violent crimes for all of 2014, with zero murders and zero robberies taking place. On the property crime side, the number of incidents reported was higher, but only one burglary made the books.”

The top three safest places to live were listed as Washington Township (1), Westwood (2) and Hillsdale (3).
