Clark Residents Report Phone Scam

Clark, NJ -- Clark Police are warning residents of a phone scam.

Several residents reported yesterday, Jan. 27 being contacted by an individual with a heavy accent who purports to be from the United States Treasury Department.

The call is coming from a number that ends in 7907 and appears on caller ID units with a Broadway NY NY address, according to Clark Police. The caller then asks the party to wire them money to stop impending legal action.

“If you recieve a call like this, do not give out any personal information or transfer any money,” Clark Police reported. “Keep in mind, government agencies will never contact you in this manner.”
