
The Clark Public Library is hosting their 50th Anniversary Celebration. This event will take place today from 2:00pm - 4:00pm at the library, 303 Westfield Avenue, Clark.
State Senator Nicholas Scutari, State Assemblywoman Linda Stender, Union County Freeholder Al Mirabella and Clark Mayor Sal Bonaccorso will be among the local dignitaries in attendance at the celebration. Beginning at 3:00pm, the David Aaron Trio will perform a free concert, featuring the music of the Big Band Era. Additionally, children of all ages will enjoy balloon sculpting, featuring Kellei of KC's Balloons starting at 2:30pm. Light refreshments will be served and registration is not required for any of the events.
The library first opened in 1961 in a small store with a collection of less than 600 books. Today, the library holds nearly 100,000 volumes and offers audiobooks, DVDs, Blu Ray, e-books, as well as free computer and Wi-Fi access.
