William Shakespeare's "Richard II" will be performed Friday and Saturday September 2 and 3 at 7:30 p.m. at the gazebo in Mindowaskin Park on East Broad Street, Westfield. The play, presented by Troupe of Friends and the Westfield Recreation Department, examines the transfer of political power from King Richard to his cousin Bullingbrook, the future King Henry IV. Allegiances change, loyal followers stay true and family bonds are tested as power shifts from one party to another. In the event of rain, performances will be held inside the Community Center. There is no charge. All are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket for seating. For more information visit www.troupe-of-friends.com.
