Flames Engulf Union County Home, More Than 45 Firefighters Respond
Crews from all around Union County aided at the scene.

CLARK, NJ — Crews needed to be removed from inside a home twice on Sunday during efforts to put out a fire in Clark, the Clark Fire Department said.
At around 6 a.m., firefighters responded to 189 Broadway for a report of smoke leaving the home. Clark Police then confirmed a working house fire was in effect.
Crews from Cranford, Linden, Rahway, Union, Roselle, and Garwood assisted at the scene with "heavy fire conditions." The Westfield Fire Department covered for the Clark crew at the Broadway firehouse.

During interior attacks, officials needed to be withdrawn to the heavy fire, and an exterior suppression commenced.
Clark Emergency Management was called in to pump out the basement.

Nobody was home at the time, and no firefighters were injured, officials said.
A team of 27 Clark firefighters was joined by at least 22 mutual aid firefighters at the scene.
The Union County 901 team, Arson Squad, and Union County Sheriff's Office were requested to complete an analysis of the cause and origin of the fire, which is yet to be released.
