Garwood Girl Scouts Restore Defaced Mural
Each girl scout was able to contribute by adding their own individual touch to the design.
GARWOOD, NJ — Multiple Garwood Girl Scouts troops came together to paint and fix a defaced mural originally started by Troop 4200 at Hartman Park.
The original mural, depicting nine stick figures with mirrors in place of their faces, was painted on the storage shed at Hartman Park off 2nd Avenue a few years ago. In September, Garwood Police found that some of the mirrors were either cracked or missing.
Daisy Troop 41108, Brownie Troop 41290, a Juliette from Troop 41220 and Senior Troop 40123 came together to restore the mural. Each girl was able to contribute by adding their own individual touch to the design.

"As a Girl Scout, the girls learn that they are smart, strong, and can do anything and that is what the girls did in completing this mural. As Troop leaders, we are proud of these girls and their continuing success," Troop Leader Vanessa Schubring said.
The Garwood Girl Scouts also thanked the Garwood PBA Local #117 and Ace Hardware in Clark for supplying all the necessary supplies needed to fix and update the mural.
