Mayor Sal Bonaccorso Smashes Guitar to Commemorate Opening of School of Rock Clark

School of Rock Clark celebrated its grand opening with a guitar smashing ceremony on Saturday, 8/29 by Clark Mayor Sal Bonaccorso.

School of Rock Clark, an after school music program for young musicians ages seven through 17, celebrated its grand opening with a guitar smashing ceremony on Saturday, 8/29 by Clark Mayor Sal Bonaccorso. Councilman Al Barr and Councilman Steve Hund were on also hand for the festivities.

“I want to wish School of Rock a great, great, long time here in Clark and we’re very happy you chose our community,” the Mayor said just before he smashed a 1964 Gibson guitar on the sidewalk. The remnants of the guitar will be hung on the wall of the School to commemorate the day’s events.

School of Rock Clark is currently enrolling students in its music education programs, which include:

  • Little Wing (weekly group music classes for kids ages three to five)
  • Rookies (weekly band-inspired group music lessons for kids in first and second grades)
  • Rock 101 (weekly private lessons and group rehearsals for students eight through 17)
  • Performance Program (weekly private lessons and group rehearsals to prepare for a themed tribute show, which will be performed at a rock/performance venue in the Clark area and in NYC)
