New Frozen Treat Shop Opening In Union County: See Where

GARWOOD, NJ — Rita's Water Ice is opening a location at 1 North Ave. in Garwood over the last few weeks of March.

An official date is yet to be announced, according to the communications team at Rita's.

The spot has a longstanding tradition of serving customers frozen treats as the former site of "Frosty Freeze."

The store sold ice cream for 50 years before closing in 2017.

Rita's is bringing its signature flavors, shakes, ice cream, and more to Garwood this season with free water ice all day on March 20, the first day of Spring.
