Pedestrian Dies From Injuries Following Car Crash In Linden

LINDEN, NJ — A pedestrian has died from injuries she got after being hit by a car in Linden last week, police report.

Linda Vicari, 72, of Winfield Park was pronounced dead at Newark University Hospital on Friday, March 22, Linden Police report.

Vicari was struck while crossing N. Stiles Street in the 2800 block by a 2000 Dodge Durango driving south on the road at about 8:50 p.m. on March 20, police report.

The driver of the vehicle, a 33-year-old Linden man, remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, police said.

The crash remains under joint investigation by the Linden Police Department Traffic Bureau and the Union County Homicide Task Force. Anyone with information about the crash is urged to contact Investigator John Halkias at 908-474-8505.
