Pedestrian Hit By Car, Hospitalized In Linden

The 72-year-old woman from Winfield Park​ was crossing N. Stiles Street when she was hit by a 2000 Dodge Durango, police report.

LINDEN, NJ — A pedestrian was hospitalized with serious injuries after being hit by a car in Linden on Wednesday night, police report.

On March 20 at about 8:50 p.m., the 72-year-old woman from Winfield Park was crossing N. Stiles Street in the 2800 block when she was hit by a 2000 Dodge Durango driving south on the road, Linden Police report.

The victim was treated on scene by Linden Fire Department personnel and paramedics from Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Hospital in Rahway. She was transported to Newark University Hospital with serious injuries. She remains there in critical condition, police report.

The driver, a 33-year-old Linden man, remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. He was not injured in the crash, police said.

The crash remains under investigation by the Linden Police Department Traffic Bureau, and anyone with information urged to contact Investigator John Halkias at 908-474-8505.
