Pedestrian Hit By Cab Then Run Over By Another Car In Elizabeth

The woman was crossing Division Street when she was hit by a cab. Another car then ran her over while she was lying in the street: Police.

ELIZABETH, NJ — An Elizabeth pedestrian was hit by a cab before being run over by another car before she died Thursday morning at the intersection of Division Street and Fairmont Avenue in Elizabeth, authorities said.

The woman was crossing Division Street when she was hit by a livery cab. Another vehicle went around the cab and ran over the woman while she was lying in the street, Elizabeth Spokeswoman Kelly Martins said.

She was transported to Trinitas Regional Medical Center where she died from her injuries. Her identity has not been released.

The investigation is continuing, however DUI was not a factor, Martins said.
