Cops Release Truck Photos In Alleged Cat Abuse Case In Union

A Chevy Silverado pickup truck with extended bed is believed to be connected with the alleged animal abuse and/or neglect case.

ROSELLE PARK, NJ — Photos of a pickup truck have been released by police in connection with three cats that were found allegedly abandoned and in poor health in the borough on Wednesday.

The truck was recorded on video surveillance on Wednesday, May 1 between 10 and 11 p.m. at the Colfax Manor Condo Complex. The vehicle appears to be a Chevy Silverado pickup truck with extended bed, dark color, four-doors. The driver is described as a White or Hispanic man, Roselle Park Police reported Friday morning.

A borough resident reported finding three cats at 11:10 p.m. that appeared to be abandoned and in poor health in a grassy area in front of the main parking lot of Colfax Manor apartments.

Officer Angelo Marino went to the area of West Colfax Avenue where the resident showed him the cats.

Two of the cats were found to be left in a pet carrier, with limited access to food and water. The third cat appeared to be blind and was found outside of a black garbage bag containing feces, police report.

All of the cats have been removed by Animal Control Officer Alex Balaban where they will be seen by a veterinarian for examination and care.
