Teen Indicted For Fatal 7-Eleven Shooting In Linden

LINDEN, NJ — A Union County teenager has been indicted for fatally shooting a Roselle man outside a Linden 7-Eleven earlier this year, Union County First Assistant Prosecutor Albert Cernadas Jr. announced Friday.
Darwens Cadet, 18, of Roselle is charged with murder and two related weapons offenses for the killing of 27-year-old Brian Pierre.
The fatal shooting took place at around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday night at the 1800 block of E. St. Georges Avenue (Route 27) in Linden, according to Union County Homicide Task Force Supervisor and Assistant Prosecutor Michael Henn, who is prosecuting the case.

Pierre was found suffering from multiple gunshot wound in the parking lot of the 7-Eleven. He died while being transported to a local hospital, Henn said.
Cadet was identified as a suspect in the case following an investigation by Union County Homicide Task Force investigation, assisted by members of the Linden Police Department, Roselle Police Department, Union County Sheriff's Office Identification Unit, and Union County Police Department Ballistics Unit.

Cadet was taken into custody without incident and charged the day after the shooting, lodged in Union County Jail.
He could face up to life in state prison on the criminal charges.
