Veteran's Needed to Visit Other Veterans at Homeside Hospice
Looking for veteran volunteers to visit with other veterans who are currently on Hospice.

In an effort to honor and support end of life veterans, Homeside Hospice is reaching out to our Veteran’s. We are distinguished from larger institutional hospices as a small, personal hospice that is the only nurse owned and operated hospice in the state of New Jersey. We are looking for veterans who would like to visit with our patients either in their homes or in a facility. Our goal is to be able to match our veteran patients with veterans in the same military branch and/or military occupational specialty. Some patients in their final journey of life would embrace reconnecting to their military family. We also have patients who are not veterans that would also benefit from a visit, from a veteran who served his country.
Homeside Hospice provides specialized health care services that focus on symptom control, comfort and support for the terminally ill and their families. Our goal is to provide individuals with the highest possible level of physical, emotional, spiritual and practical support necessary during this time. Owned and operated by nurses, Homeside Hospice services consist of a patient-focused interdisciplinary care team of a medical director, nurses, social workers, chaplains, home health aides and volunteers. All decisions regarding patient care are made with the patient's quality of life as the primary goal. Our patient and family support system provides the level of care needed to meet the unique needs of those experience a life-limiting illness. As a small program, we provide the personal touch that has become lost in today's healthcare environment.
Homeside Hospice currently serves throughout New Jersey including Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Ocean, Passaic, Somerset and Union Counties. If you are a Veteran and can give a little of your time in the New Year to visit another Veteran, please contact, Jennifer Furman, Volunteer Coordinator at Homeside Hospice at 1-732-381-3444 or email me at jfurman@homesidehospice.com
