Westfield Area Y Encourages Community to Take Summer Swim Lessons

The Westfield Area Y is providing a free one-week guest pass which will also enable access to purchase a week of summer swim lessons.

The Westfield Area YMCA is providing a free one-week guest pass to non-members which will also enable access to purchase a week of swim lessons at full member rates during the summer. The one-week guest pass includes use of the Y’s fitness facilities, land and water group exercise classes and open gym/swim.

“Our goal is to have people of all ages and skill levels grow to develop a lifelong love of swimming. In the summer, we offer one-week Monday-Thursday preschool and youth swim class sessions. Since swimming is such an important skill, we are ensuring the ability for all in the community to register for at least one week of swim lessons,” said Rob Faggiano, Westfield Area YMCA Aquatics Director. “Swimming is a year-round, life-long activity,” adds Assistant Aquatics Director Sharon London. “We have many students who started with us years ago in a parent/child class and progress through our curriculum. We are proud to watch them develop their skills while having have fun and becoming safer, stronger and more confident both in and out of the pool.”

For swim lesson rates and schedules or a guest pass, please visit www.westfieldynj.org or the Main Y Facility Welcome Center at 220 Clark Street, Westfield. Free swim level assessments are available.
