WESTFIELD AREA Y OFFERS FREE HEALTHY HEART ACTIVITIES DURING AMERICAN HEART MONTH

February is American Heart Month and as a leading nonprofit dedicated to improving the nation’s health and well-being, the Westfield Area Y located at 220 Clark Street in Westfield is offering a free 7-day guest pass to try the Y and free “healthy heart” events open to both members and the community. All activities are led by Westfield Area Y Health & Wellness Staff with some guest speakers as noted below.
· February 8th - 7:00-7:45pm, Fitness Activity Trackers, TJ Heaney, Westfield Running Company
· February 9th - 7:00-7:45pm, Lunch at your Desk, Natalie Capoccia, Dietician, ShopRite

· February 12th – 7:00-7:45pm, Beginner Breathing and Balance

· February 15th - 9:00-9:30am, Fitness Express 30-Minute Intro
· February 17th - 9:00-10:00am, Walking in the Gym
· February 18th - 10:45-11:15am, Abs Game Planning
· February 19th - 7:00-7:45pm, Core Workouts
· February 22nd - 7:30-8:30pm, Stress Management & Mindfulness, Joan Glass Morgan Psy.D
· February 24th - 9:00-10:00am, Walking in the Gym
· February 24th - 12:30-1:30pm, Lunchtime Lectures: Fitness For Baby Boomers, Americare Physical Therapy
· February 25th - 6:30-7:15pm, How to Train in Your Target Heart Rate Zone
· February 26th - 7:00-7:45pm, Stretching: When & How
The community is welcome to attend one or more of the above free activities. Priority registration for Spring 1 session begins 6:00 pm on Thursday, February 4th.
