OK, today is Tax Day, and we all have to pay our "dues" to the Federal Government, but I don't want to go there. I have several videos up on YouTube on the issue whcih I cannot post here (I use 4-letter words) whcih might upset the "tender toed."
My post for today is about a friend of mine. For the sake of this post I will call her "Granny Trucker" as she once was a truck driver for Liprino Foods in years back.
Back about 2005 after about 14 years of marriage, her husband died from cancer. Her hubby "John" worked for Rohm and Haas in Bristol, PA, for many years, dealing with "chemicals" for the lack of better words. R & H has since been bought out by Dow Chemical.

But...today, (April 15th) is the birthday of her hubby, he would have been 75 years old today. Even though she is my best buddy (the sister I never had) she is in a massive Blue Funk. John was the absolute "love of her life". All these years later she still mourns and I get it.
The loss of a spouse that was knitted this close in ones life is rarely seen in our "modern times". She stops by my place several times a week and we chat, jump of social sites together and talk quietly about both our past lives. Anytime she talks about John you can almost tears up....and I get it.

So, on this day where our governement wants to take its "pound of flesh" there are some things more important, remembering a loved one.
I wish I had the ability to ease her pain and while we bring John back about the best I can do is give her a hug and a kiss and tell her "I understand" and pray to God that the wounds can be healed. Gone, but not forgotten.
So my friend, my buddy, my "sister" I say Happy Birthday John, you are not forgotten. Hugs from this Ugly Old Truck Driver!
