Finally Warm This Week

Is 80 degrees in sight? Find out in the PatchCast for April 8-14!

If you've been awaiting warm weather, this week is for you. I must say there is a lot of uncertainty with this week's temperatures, but odds are that we'll make a run at 80 degrees one or two days.

Today should end up dry with a mix of sun and clouds. A cold front will be just to our north, but that is where we want it if we want warm temperatures. Highs today will reach the low 70s.

The cold front will retreat to the north tonight as a warm front, allowing for an even warmer day on Tuesday. The atmosphere will be a bit unstable, so a shower or thunderstorm is possible, but high temperatures will rise into the upper 70s.

Wednesday and Thursday are our best chances of reaching or exceeding 80 degrees. A stationary frontal boundary separating warm from cold air will park itself north of the Delaware Valley, keeping us on the warm side. We'll see hazy sun on Wednesday with a chance of showers, but Thursday will feature more clouds and a better chance for showers.

An area of low pressure and its associated cold front will move through the region on Friday. Therefore, a rather cloudy and damp day is expected with on and off showers. Temperatures may actually drop a bit on Friday, starting off in the mid 60s but falling into the 50s after the cold front moves through.

The weekend will be cooler compared to the rest of the week, but it will be seasonable with highs right around 60. As of now, it looks dry too.
