Gabe's TechTip: Pay for Your Meal with Your Finger?

Tech Blogger Gabe Fletcher shows you how you could possibly be using your fingertip to pay for your next meal.

Biometric payment technology is coming in the VERY near future. How awesome would it be to just lay your finger on a scanner and BOOM, you pay your bill, get an email receipt and a text message that you paid the bill? Sounds awesome to me.

PayTango is a new start-up that links your fingerprint to your credit or debit card. It allows you to pay in SECONDS at participating locations just by placing your finger(s) on the scanning glass, then your debit/credit card is charged immediately.

Credit-card information is kept safe, under military-grade SSL encryption. This also opens a world of biometric payment for other things, such as boarding an airplane, buying a movie ticket, paying to use the gym, even in a school cafeteria.

It also opens the door to allow you to link a social media account to your fingerprint and check in at places, just by scanning your print on the glass, and then it automatically posts to your Facebook wall, where you are... the possibilities are endless.
