Thank Gawd It's Friday

Well, the morning started out just fine. Got up and kicked on my 'puter and off to the kitchen to make coffee. Granny Trucker will be here in about an hour to get her "computer fix" before she goes to work.

When she got her she mentioned she had a low tire on her car and stopped by a garage and got it blown back up. After her morning "computer fix" she rolled out the door headed for work and I thought little of it. About an hour later my phone goes off and it Granny, she on the side of the road about 2 miles from work and "that tire" went down (at 60 MPH) and trashed itself pretty well. NJDOT came by and looked at it (she doesnt have a spare) and the front tire was trashed.

So, I roll out of the house to "rescue" her to see what's up. Get there and the tire is toast. I was going to try and put the spare outa my car on hers but my lug wrench wouldn't fit her car.

Thank gawd I recently got AAA for her and I a few months back—best money I could have ever spent!

The AAA driver shows up in 30 minutes and we take her car to the local service center about 2 miles away. Ta-da!

The service rep comes out and we find out she has one of those damn "metric tires." UGH! He looks all 4 over and we find her other front tire has "dry rot" on it with a small bubble on the side. We walk back in to the shop and he looks the tire up (and I'm thinking money is tight in both our houses.)

We get the quote (with AARP DISCOUNT and Senior Citizen Discount) and works out to like $60 each and out the door. Granny looks at me and shakes her head, pay day is a ways off yet. So I say DO IT as I break out my AMX Card, what the hell are friends for right? So about 1 1/2 hours later we are out the door and gone.
