Chow's Restaurant Burglarized

Police said an unknown male broke into the Haddon Avenue restaurant early on Labor Day, making off with cash from the register.

According to reports, an unknown male broke into Chow's Chinese and Japanese Food in the early morning hours on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 5. 

Collingswood Detective Sgt. Guy DeRitis said the man used an unknown object to smash in the glass front door of the restaurant—located at 659 Haddon Ave. 

Police investigations said the man, images of whom were captured on Chow's video surveillance system, vaulted the front counter, forcibly opened the register, and removed $150 in cash.

According to reports, police received a call from a nearby Haddon Avenue resident at 4:06 a.m. Monday. The resident alleged hearing a loud bang and, after looking out a window, saw a person coming out of Chow's front door. 

The perpetrator was last seen running down Haddon Avenue and turning onto Woodlawn Avenue.

Police reviewed Chow's video surveillance, and alleged the perpetrator is either a light-skinned black or Hispanic male, aged somewhere in his early-to-late twenties, with short black hair. 

Surveillance stills show the man wearing blue jeans, tan work boots, and a black T-shirt depicting a floral design on the back.
