Collingswood suffered the second-worst beating of the week, and Haddonfield was shut out at home to open the season. West Deptford-Lindenwold was postponed by rain.

Woodbury 42, Collingswood 7

It was the Anthony Averett and Cameron Gamble show at Woodbury Saturday morning, as the two scored three touchdowns alone and combined on a fourth in a 42-7 shellacking of Collingswood in the two teams’ Colonial Conference opener.

The Thundering Herd built a lead in a hurry, getting a 50-yard rushing touchdown from Alabama-bound Averett and a 20-yard return on a blocked punt by Gamble. After a Dwuan Martin three-yard TD, the Herd led 22-0 after just the first quarter.
