Cooling Centers In Collingswood To Remain Open Through The Weekend

Cooling centers will be open through Sunday.

Collingswood, NJ -- Cooling centers in Collingswood will remain open through the weekend.

The centers were open from noon-7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday as an Excessive Heat Warning takes hold in South Jersey.

They will now also be open from noon-7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, as heat index values are expected to exceed 100 degrees each afternoon.

In Collingswood, cooling centers are located at:

  • Collingswood Borough Boro, 678 Haddon Avenue, open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Call 856-854-0720;
  • Collingswood Fire House, 20 West Collings Avenue, open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Call 856-854-1043;
  • Collingswood Library, 771 Haddon Avenue, open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Call 856-858-0649; and
  • Collingswood Senior Center, 30 West Collings Avenue, open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Call 856-854-4440.

Fans are also available to senior citizens, ages 60 years or older, who have an income of less than $25,000 a year. To request a fan or to obtain more information, call the Camden County Division of Senior Services at 856-858-3220.
