Hearing Postponed For Man Accused Of Killing Collingswood Sisters
Mark Lyczak's hearing has been postponed until next week.

COLLINGSWOOD, NJ — The pretrial detention hearing for the Burlington County man accused of murdering a pair of sisters in Collingswood has been postponed. The hearing for 44-year-old Mark Lyczak, of Medford, has been rescheduled for Friday, Jan. 19. It was originally set for Thursday, Jan. 4, but was postponed one day due to inclement weather. During the rescheduled hearing on Friday, his attorney requested an adjournment until next week.
Lyczak is charged with two counts of murder in the deaths of 48-year-old Colleen Brownell and her 41-year-old sister, Alysia McCloskey. He is also charged with attempted murder in the stabbing of a third woman in the same incident.
Funeral services for Brownell and McCloskey are set for Saturday, Jan. 6, 9 a.m. to noon at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road in Mount Laurel.

Brownell and Lyczak were dating, but Brownell left him when he became overbearing and she became scared. Brownell obtained a restraining order against Lyczak and then moved in with her sister.
Brownell intended to move to Florida, to be closer to her son, who she had given up for adoption nearly 30 years ago, according to nj.com. They reconnected last year.

Lyczak is accused of fatally stabbing Brownell and McCloskey in their home on Saturday, Dec. 30. Both women were pronounced dead on the scene.
Police found Lyczak on top of the third woman with a knife in his hand. He was arrested, and she was hospitalized in critical condition. He was remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility. The hearing will determine whether Lyczak is held until trial or released on bail.
As of Friday, The Alysia McCloskey Family Fund GoFundMe page had raised over $15,000. The fundraiser was set up to raise money for McCloskey's sons, Zack and Riley, for "expenses of necessity and educational purposes."
