2 People Thrown From Motorcycle During Crash Along South Jersey Highway, Police Say

BLACKWOOD, NJ — Two people were ejected from a motorcycle after a crash along Black Horse Pike (State Highway 168) on Saturday, the Gloucester Township Police Department said.

At around 10:30 a.m., officers responded to the area of Black Horse Pike and Garden Avenue for a report of a crash involving a motorcycle and passenger car.

Callers who were at the site of the crash told police that two people were hurt after being thrown off the motorcycle.

First responders found the bike's driver and passenger in the road with serious injuries. They were taken to Cooper Trauma Center for treatment and were last reported to be in critical but stable condition, according to authorities.

The driver of the car was not hurt and stayed on scene to help police.

Early evidence showed that the driver of the motorcycle was stopped along Garden Avenue while waiting to turn left onto Southbound Black Horse Pike.

They began to turn and hit the front passenger side of a sedan that was going north along Black Horse Pike.

The road was closed for three hours while officials cleared the scene.

According to officials, neither speed nor distracted driving appears to be to blame for the crash.
