Help Collingswood Community Theatre Keep Local Arts Alive

Collingswood Community Theatre has adopted a fresh, new motif — every penny counts.

The theater hopes to raise $3,000 for its 2011 production line-up, which may seem a lofty goal at first. So theatre officials simplified that number into a smaller-scale goal — they're seeking 300 people to donate $10 each.

The Community Theatre has dubbed its effort the "Ten Lousy Bucks" campaign.

Donations will make 2011 productions possible by funding theater costs such as advertising, costumes, set creation and props. Theater leaders say the campaign stems from needing to fill the rapidly increasing financial divide between production costs and ticket sales.

The names of arts supporters who donate $10 will be listed on the Collingswood Community Theatre website and in its production program. And $10 donations also will give supporters "Friend" and "VIP" theatre statuses.

But for those feeling oh-so-generous, donations of more than $10 will return the favor. Names of individuals who donate over $10 will be printed in larger font on theatre's website and production program.
