Closing Permanently: Historic NJ Amusement Park Shuts Down, Owners Say

CLEMENTON, NJ — Clementon Park & Splash World will close permanently unless it's bought by new owners, the amusement park's current management team said.

"After five memorable years, we are saddened to announce that we have made the difficult decision to close the park and plan to offer the park for sale," staff said on social media.

Park hours on the attraction's website now reflect no future dates of operation.

Owners say they are hopeful that whoever buys the property will continue the amusement park and honor its history and legacy.

A reason for the shutdown was not immediately available.

The team at "Clementon" said they will share updates regarding the sale of the property as they develop.

"Thank you for the memories, the support, and five wonderful seasons," staff added. "We are truly grateful to everyone who has been part of this journey."

Patch has reached out for further details on the decision to close and is yet to hear back.

Clementon Park & Splash World first opened in 1907 as a trolly park and has changed ownership multiple times over its tenure.
