It's Official: Cap Raised on Dog-Licensing Fee
After a public hearing with no comments, commissioners voted in favor of an ordinance to raise dog licensing fees.
After Monday night's second reading and public hearing—during which no one spoke—commissioners officially approved an ordinance to raise dog licensing fees.
Under the amendment, the following dog licensing fees now apply to all license applicants:
$17 fee for every spayed or neutered dog
$21 for every non-spayed or non-neutered dog
Included in this fee is a $1 state registration fee, a pilot clinic fee of 20¢ for dogs who are not neutered or spayed, and a $3 surcharge fee
The amendment increases licensing fees by $1 for non-spayed and non-neutered dogs (formerly $20 per dog). The increases spayed and neutered dog licenses by $2 (up from $15 per dog).
The current licenses of all borough dog owners, according to the ordinance, will expire on Dec. 31, 2011.
All expired licenses are renewable in 2012.
