Man Arrested in Connection With Fatal Shooting in South Jersey

Zaire Tate has been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of Jahquae Walker.

A Camden man has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal shooting that took place on Wednesday, Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson said.

Zaire Tate, 24, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 26-year-old Jahquae Walker, of Camden.

He was arrested following a traffic stop  near the intersection of Collings Road and North Constitution Road in Camden at about 10:46 a.m. on Friday.

He was remanded to the Camden County Jail on $1 million full cash bail.

Police allege Tate shot Walker in a home on the 800 block of Walnut Street in Camden.

Police responded to the scene around 12:14 a.m. and found Walker suffering from a gunshot wound.

Walker was transported to Cooper University Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at about 3:58 a.m.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
