Man Who Tied Up Woman, Stabbed Man In Collingswood Sentenced

Bernard Miller will have to serve the majority of his sentence before he is eligible for parole, an official said.

CAMDEN, NJ — Bernard Miller was sentenced on Thursday to 28 years in a New Jersey State Prison on attempted murder and armed robbery charges, the Camden County Prosecutor said.

Miller, 39, was also sentenced on other third-degree charges for offenses that also took place in February 2020, including burglary and theft, according to authorities.

He will have to serve 85 percent of his sentence before he is eligible for parole, authorities said. He will also undergo 10 years of parole supervision after he is released, authorities said.

Miller was arrested in February 2020 for breaking into a Collingswood house, tying up a woman, stabbing a man, setting the house on fire and then fleeing the scene, according to authorities. The attack left the man blind, according to authorities.
