Vietnam Veterans Group to Dedicate Monument in Camden
Friday, March 30 is national Vietnam Veterans Welcome Home Day.

More than 58,000 U.S. troops died during the Vietnam War.Â
To honor the fallen, an area veterans' group will dedicate a monument at Camden County Veterans Cemetery on Friday, March 30 at 11 a.m. The event is free and open to the public.Â
The South Jersey Vietnam Veterans Association paid for the $6,000 monument entirely with private funds raised through coin tosses and other fundraisers. The group has 160 members, and it provides support to area Vietnam veterans and their families.Â

The monument was created from black granite like the Vietnam Veterans Memorial on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. It is inscribed with the phrase, "All gave some, and some gave all."Â The veterans' group has already dedicated similar monuments in Atlantic and Gloucester counties.
Friday is national Vietnam Veterans Welcome Home Day, a day meant to provide belated recognition to those who served during the war.Â

Camden County Veterans Cemetery is at Harleigh Cemetery in Camden. The dedication ceremony will be held near the Kaighn Avenue entrance, just off Airport Circle.Â
